It works by adding a record to your DNS, stating that a server is allowed to send email for that domain.</p> <p>For example, <a href="http://www.campaignmonitor.com">Campaign Monitor</a> recommend that you set up SPF for their server before you send a mailshot. We discovered that I had to enable SPF ("Sender Policy Framework") and choose pass, for the emails to go out. I was getting the auto response emails, but not the ones with the actual visitor info until this setting was changed.
